Yesterday was Cooper's 4-month doctor's visit and what an experience that was! First, we find out that our pediatrician that we loved has quit the practice and of course, they wouldn't tell us if she went somewhere else or why she left. So we met with a new doctor, Dr. Sam, Cooper loved him (he has a snake for a stethescope). I actually like him better than his other doctor and I really liked her, but she doesn't have any children and some of the things she would say were only things that someone without children would say. Like instead of feeding him 5 oz every three hours try feeding him only 2 ounces every hour or so....Every hour??? Now come on!! Then, I had a lady in the waiting room, sitting on the WELL side of course, come over and start trying to make Cooper smile. She was touching on his nose and having her kids come over and get all up in his face which wouldn't have been bad except after she does all the touching and letting her child breathe all in his face inform me that her son has had horrible, EXPLOSIVE diarhea since the day before (but he doesn't have a fever or anything like that......how nice). So she was one of THOSE mother's whose child is sick but NOT as sick as the kids on the sick side so lets just sit on the WELL side and give the not sick kids and babies the EXPLOSIVE craps. I almost lost it...I really hate idiot parents like that, especially when it puts my child at risk.
Anyway, so the update on height and weight. Cooper is off the charts, the doctor said that he is going to be a very tall boy! He is now weighing in at 17 pounds 9 oz.....Can you believe it? He is 25 inches long and his head is 44 cm in diameter. He told me that he is currently the size of an average 7-month old. I asked if he was too heavy and he said not at all for the height that he is and the size of his head, that I was just going to have a very tall boy on my hands at the rate that he was growing. So he is healthy as can be and an absolute joy! He smiles every time that you just look at him and he loves to babble and talk. We go back to the doctor next Tuesday for his 4-month shots...Not going to be fun! They were out of two of the vaccinations yesterday so he lucked out!
